AS documentary practice

Whilst planning the documentary, we had many different aspects to consider such as the interviewee, location and the content of the documentary itself. Our interviewee Kayla is 17 and people usually associate teenagers to have mobile phones. Kayla moved from South Africa in her late child hood we thought this would provide a different perspective of mobile phones and how her "mobile life" progressed throughout her time in both Africa and England

We decided our interview should be filmed in our media class room against a blank wall. The blank wall made it simple so the audience can just focus on what she is saying. Another reason behind our location choice is because it was quiet and Kayla could express her ideas properly without being distracted by noises around her.
Kayla was sat down with her phone in her hand to reinforce was the interview was about.

In regards to cut away shots we chose to film shots of mobile phones and people walking around and sat down using there mobile phones. We also decided to use shots from the internet or typing in, and also doing the same with a phone and speeding up the process to display a question.

Another cut away we decided would look effective on our documentary was a foot shot , this involves putting the camera on the floor and pressing record so as people walk past it captures them creating the sense of a lot of people.
