Usually there is one simple image which is both attractive and relevant to the subject.
There is a Ident at the bottom right of the image therefore showing what channel the documentary is being played
Titles at the bottom left of the image with usually the date and time the documentary is being showed also a website link sometimes
Simple graphics are used to inform the audience graphics are simply as they shouldnt distract from the image too much
Limited amount of colour used
Limited amount of text
The codes and conventions above must be considered when im designing the print advert for my groups documentary. Therefore the audience will know the theme of my documentary and at the same time telling them the information they need to know, this including the channel of the programme the documentary will be featured on and the time and date.

The images above are examples of print adverts from channel 4 . The images are also supporting the codes and conventions which shows evidence of the different features you need and a guidline for what needs to be considered when i am creating the print advert for my own documentary
These images have been taken off the website http://4creative.co.uk/flash/
