Type of documentary;
It was a mixed documentary as it included cutaways of the Lara Croft game and The Lara Croft film featuring Angelina Jolie. Also it incorporated Archieve footage of the film trailer and the film itself. finally it included interviews, though there was no voice over or no narrative.
Themes;
The themes included, Lara Croft in the game industry and of the connection between real characters and a game character or a cartoon. Narrative structure;
At first we were given an introduction to the background of the game. At the beginning of the documentary gamers were interviewed and said there opinion of it. The middle was demonstrating the obsession of Lara Croft and how realistic the character has come with people becoming obsessed with her. It concluded with showing how fans who dress up and mimic Lara Croft.
Camerawork;
There was next to nothing camera work in this documentary however there was a static camera shot showing an over the shoulder shot of different lira croft fans playing the game.
Mise en scene;
The documentary itself was filmed in what looked like a basement which made it rather unprofessional. Whilst the people were being interviewed about the game a blue screen wasn’t in use instead a green projector.
Sound ;
The sound included was digetic in the interviews and so were the sound effects from the video game for example heavy breathing when she was running and the gasps when she hit the ground.
Editing ;
In this documentary, it included very simple editing, which included cutaway shots to the game being played. Also cutaways to adverts of the Lara Croft game and the fan websites showing the different messages that people sent to her.
archive material;
The archieve material included the adverts for the film and the adverts for the game.
